His upbringing is a tale of tumult and heartache that eventually leads him from the workhouses of London to the lights of Vaudeville stages, all by the age of 11.
This is the first in a series looking back at the life of Charlie Chaplin. Each episode in the series will break down a segment of his life, ultimately painting a picture of one of the biggest names of the silent era.
