193 episodes

In this podcast about all things Hamilton, I (your host Gillian Pensavalle) talk to my co-hosts and guests about all things Hamilton including how it brings people together, how we find Ham references in everyday life, and the general brilliance of the show: from cast, crew, and creatives involved in the production, to the minds behind some of the best social media accounts inspired by Hamilton, to teachers who use the music to get their students excited about history, and everything in between.

The discussion of Ron Chernow's "Alexander Hamilton" starts in episode three. If you're interested, please feel free to read along with us; we'll be going chapter-by-chapter and provide detailed and reference-heavy outlines for each #Cherpter. But there's no pressure! There's plenty to talk about and this is not a super serious history class.

When I started this podcast in January of 2016, I could not have imagined the incredible community that has built around the show and the amazing experiences that have come my way. Thank you to everyone who has listened, appeared on the show, contributed, or reached out in any way. This podcast for you and I absolutely love making it.

If you have any great Ham stories or funny references you've come across, let me know! I love hearing about things like that. Email TheHamilcast [at] gmail [dot] com, or contact me on social media @TheHamilcast.

My favourite podcast in the world

Loving in Western Australia where no one knows what Hamilton is, when you are OBSESSED WITH IT. Is tough. Gillian is so fun to listen to, she KNOWS WHATS UP and is so respected by the Hamilton community that she has hosted (in her home!) and interview all of them ... like really ALL OF THEM. You may have come here because you typed in Lin Manuel Miranda but you’ll end up staying and listening to every god damn episode and “rewind....wind...wind” and do it all again because they’re so full of fun and facts that you learn something new on every listen. The editing is amazing. Guests are 5 star. Just subscribe already!

Good

It’s a well edited podcast with interesting guests. The host is a little too over the top (Americans!), but her guests manage well. Some of the non cast episodes ramble and have no point.

The Hamilcast Rocks!

Oh gosh I love the Hamilcast. I found it just over a year ago, which was about a year after I fell in love with Hamilton. For someone who lives in Australia, in a pre Hamilton existence, with few friends who know the amazingness, this podcast helps me feel connected to the world of Hamilton and others who love and are part of the Hamilton world. Hamilcast allows me to immerse myself further into the depths of Hamilton, learning all I can and enjoying the journey. Gillian truly is excellent and has made this podcast the success it is!
