Season 6: What They Died For

The endgame is fast approaching. We talk about how satisfying it is to watch Jack come into his own as a leader, how moving it is to see Sideways Locke accept his offer of help, how frustrating Jacob's conception of "choice" is, and much more. And for our interview, we're back where it all began: With Jack Bender, executive producer of "Lost" and director of many episodes, including "The End." It's no secret that this episode — where we learn about the early lives of Jacob and the Man in Black, along with their Mother — isn't a favorite among Lost fans. So we dig into what works, what doesn't and how it could've been different. Tucker Gates, who directed this episode, offers his thoughts as well. We can't seem to agree whether this episode is awesome or full of unrealized potential — so let us know what you think? Either way, the finale is near. They sure do! We love Hurley's open-mindedness, generosity and capacity as a budding leader, though we disagree somewhat on his methods. We also talk about what makes the Desmond/Man in Black scenes so great. Henry Ian Cusick returns to talk about the series finale. Deep analysis and great interviewees

I’m watching Lost for the first time in 2019 and this podcast is a fabulous companion episode by episode. I get the occasional spoiler, but I don’t mind spoilers. I’m less interested in what happens then how it happens.

The best thing about Lost, to my mind, are the mythology and speculative aspects. This podcast is also very interested in those aspects. It’s also very interested in the human relationships and personalities, and that’s where it overthinks the show a little sometimes.

Still, there is a television scholar, Damon Lindelof (which the microphone translated as Landlost), and some worthwhile actors to listen to.

One of the hosts is female (always a plus) and the two hosts get on very well even when they disagree.
