Women make up half of the world's population, and yet history books often consign them to the sidelines. They are dismissed as merely the wives of powerful men; babymakers and nothing more. Yet women have been the driving force behind history for millennia, from female Pharoahs, warrior princesses and pirates, to the revolutionaries who sought to topple the male-dominated political systems of their day. From host of the popular 'Queens of England Podcast', The Other Half tells the forgotten and ignored stories of the most powerful and influential women in history.

My favourite podcast and podcaster

Queens of England and The Other half are incredible history podcasts and James does an incredible job talking about women in a wonderful respectful way. I have listened to all but maybe 8 eps- which I will finish while you are away James. James I hope that you are getting lots of self care in and are feeling better soon. There is nothing harder then struggling with your mental health (your podcasts have helped me with mine), take care and I hope that one day you are up to podcasting again. You are one of the best hosts out there!

Loving this podcast

I’ve really been enjoying the stories of some of history’s lesser known, but super impressive and interesting, women. Each episode has so much detail that I feel like it appropriately honours the subject in all their complexities. A great find!

Absolutely the best!

It took me a couple of times to get into the Queens of England but after a few episodes I was hooked. This podcast continues similarly with exceptional detail, insight and pace. An absolute gem of a podcast.
