Frank Clissold was struck by lightning while cleaning out his overflowing gutters. Suffering horrific injuries, but surviving, Frank's life got a lot harder. Not once .... but twice. This is the incredible story of Frank Clissold - the lightning man - who should be dead.  But even if he was to survive, he should still show the scars of his brush with nature's most powerful force.  But he isn't and he doesn't.     RT4RM#55: Overcoming self-loathing

    Do you like yourself?  no, I mean really ... do you LIKE yourself? Very often we tend to look around and think that society has the opposite problem - people like themselves too much. ... and it is what interpret that the Bible warns against. for example ... Ephesians 5:29 - "For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church:" I'm going into what this verse and others like it actually mean, but more the point that we can somehow build the belief that hating ourselves is virtuous, or more virtuous to lean that way than to overly love ourselves. Bad Consequences But self loathing has very bad consequences. And it was never meant for us to be self loathers. In this episode, we speak again to Robyn Jordan (returning to the show) who is a reformed-self loather and now spends a lot of time 'reforming' self loathers.     In the news, every day right now is a brewing battle between sports superstar Israel Folau and his ex-employer Rugby Australia. Israel is fighting his dismissal for posting on social media messages to do with his Christian beliefs that Rugby Australia have deemed incompatible with one of their employees. Christians and non-Christians alike are divided on whether Israel should take up this fight. This battle has inspired this podcast, where Chris and Guy come up with 5 ideas (maybe even principles) that they would use to decide whether they would fight or flee. What is your view?
