Episode 11 - Why I Choose To Bring My Family To A Holistic Dentist
Oral health should be taken very seriously. It is the window to our overall health. Teaching our kids preventative measures, like proper brushing and flossing is key. So is finding a dentist that you trust and that aligns with your values and beliefs.
1. I don't believe in fluoride Fluoride is a neurotoxin. It's known to impact the cardiovascular, central nervous, digestive, endocrine, immune, integumentary, renal, respiratory, and skeletal systems, and exposure to fluoride has been linked to Alzheimer’s disease, cancer, diabetes, heart disease, infertility, and many other adverse health outcomes, including fluoride toxicity.
2. I don't believe in Mercury fillingsSilver fillings are banned in many other countries but not here in the US. it is absorbed into the body and retained particularly in the brain, kidney, liver, lung, and gastrointestinal tract.
Dental Mercury could cause:
Allergies
Cardiovascular problems
Alzheimer’s disease
Autism spectrum disorders
Chronic fatigue syndrome
Kidney disease
Depression and anxiety
Reproductive dysfunction
Autoimmune disorders
Mercury poisoning
3. I don't believe in Root canalsThey are intrusive and can lead to bigger problems.During a root canal, dangerous bacteria can hide out in the tooth. It can become super toxic and can migrate to other tissues in your body, and your heart, kidneys, bones and brain.
4. I don't believe in laughing gasI don't want to give my child nitrous oxide to my child to get a cavity filled.
I made a conscious decision to find a holistic dentist that has the same beliefs as me. A holistic dentist or biological dentist looks at the patient’s overall health and uses natural therapies to prevent, diagnose and treat. Reduced root canals, crowns and invasive techniques.
Practices minimally invasive dentistry with the Biomimetic philosophy
Educate yourself as much as possible and make informed decisions. If you don’t feel comfortable with a recommendation made by your dentist or any doctor, you have every right to say no. You can always do something later on after you’ve researched it and made a conscious, educated decision if you choose to, but you can’t undo something. Leave me a comment and let me know if you are a non conformist. -

Benefits of establishing a morning routine
Start the day off right. Your setting the tone of your day on a positive note by creating good habits. Your approach toward the day will be positive and you’ll be more prepared for the days events and challenges.
More productive - when you start the day off in a positive way, your giving yourself a head start on the day. Your creating momentum that you can take with you throughout your day. When you wake up and are rushed, your playing catch up and you let the day dictate your day.

Episode 8 - Is Social Media Controlling your life? How to Facebook On Purpose
Podcast Episode 8 - Is Social Media Controlling your life? How to Facebook on Purpose
I made a conscious decision to live my best mom life. I intentionally create a life that is filled with peace, calm and tranquility. I avoid things that don’t lend itself to my intention.
One steps i’m taking is to use social media on purpose by setting social media limits
What does that mean? I made a conscious decision to not spend wasteful time on social media. Have you ever checked the screen time function on your smart phone? I did and I could't believe how much time I was spending on social media. When you add a couple minutes here and there it adds up to be a lot.
As a blogger, social media is a big part of my purpose. I promote published blog posts, I engage with my followers, and I build relationships with other moms and other bloggers.
On a personal level, I love connecting with my friends and family. I enjoy seeing their family pictures and watching their kids grow. It's a nice way to keep up with people's lives.
I also love talking about things like the latest housewives shenanigans.
On the other hand, there are a lot of negatives to social media.
It can cause us stress, anxiety and even depression
It can set unrealistic expectations
There's cyberbullying
It can cause unhealthy sleep patterns
FOMO anyone?
It can create a negative body image by constantly comparing ourselves to others
It can cause disagreements which lead to arguments and even an end to a friendship
As with anything else in life, it's all about balance.
Here are some steps I have been taking and how you too can Facebook on Purpose:
1. Don't scroll social throughout the day.
2. Customize your newsfeed that aligns with your purpose.
3. DO NOT go on Facebook first thing in the morning or right before going to sleep.
4. Turn off notifications.
