Season 14, Episode 127 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Friday episode, Alex Kozora and I get right to talking about the Pittsburgh Steelers decision to not exercise the fifth-year option on the rookie contract of RB Najee Harris. We go over all aspects of that decision on Harris, what likely led to the declining of the fifth-year option and what the outcomes with the running back might be moving forward. We discuss if we think the Steelers made the right decision with Harris as well.
Alex and I go over a short list of players that eventually signed new contracts with their respective teams after initially having their fifth-year options declined. We also discuss what course of action Harris may or may not take for the remainder of the offseason now that his fifth-year option has been declined by the Steelers.
After a long discussion about Harris, Alex and I then discuss the possibility of new Steelers QB Justin Fields being used some as a kickoff returner based on what all RB Jaylen Warren said on the topic during his recent interview with Cameron Heyward on his podcast over the weekend. Will Fields even get as much as one snap on the kickoff return team in 2024? We attempt to answer that question.
Alex and I then move on to recap the event last few days that former Steelers CB Bryant McFadden has had after his tweet concerning Pittsburgh likely to add a "significant playmaker" soon. We also review what Steelers GM Omar Khan had said in recent interviews concerning the team possibly trading for "significant playmaker" soon.
Dur to reader and listener peer pressure this last week, I went down the rabbit hole of the plausibility of the Steelers maybe trading for Seattle seahawks WR DK Metcalf after June 1. We go over the situation the Seahawks have with their salary cap, why they may or may not be interested in trading Metcalf and also go over things related to Seattle that will be worth following these next few weeks.
With two more free agent wide receivers, D.J. Chark and Odell Beckham Jr., now agreeing to terms with new teams, Alex and I update the short list of players that the Steelers might could consider adding to their roster in some form or fashion moving forward into the offseason.
Finally, we go over the latest players invited to participate in the Steelers upcoming rookie minicamp, which will take place in Pittsburgh next weekend.
Several other minor topics not noted are also discussed in this 92-minute episode and we end it all by answering several emails we have received from listeners.

With the 2024 NFL Draft in the books, Joe Clark and Ross McCorkle discuss the full draft class, and go through each player individually to discuss their fit and the value they brought the Steelers in the draft. The theme was hearts and smarts and three of the players had one specific trait in common.
They also discussed the "significant playmaker" watch that has been going on since former Steelers CB Bryant McFadden posted a compelling tweet and later walked it back a bit.
The final topic was discussing Jaylen Warrens comments on Justin Fields returning kicks and how feasible that is.
They finish the show by answering a listener question.

Season 14, Episode 126 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Wednesday episode, Alex Kozora and I get right to talking about some latest news cornering the Pittsburgh Steelers and that includes us going over some players that have been invited to participate in the team's forthcoming rookie minicamp.
New Steelers T Troy Fautanu is discussed a little bit early in this show as part of some things he recently said in an interview. We talk some about why he likely slid to the Steelers at 20th overall in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft.
Steelers GM Omar Khan has conducted several interviews since our last show, so Alex and I recap that the things he had to say that were important. We go over the addition of another wide receiver and cornerback not being imminent at this time and the possibility of veteran CB Cameron Sutton being brought back. We also talk about the status of the recent report restructuring of the contract of OLB Alex Highsmith and how it has yet to hit the NFLPA side yet.
Alex recently did a full profile on undrafted free agent RB Daijun Edwards, so we discuss what that longer look showed. We also discuss the two targets contextualizations of new Steelers WR Roman Wilson from his time at Michigan that I have now completed. We also talk a little about the New York Jets seemingly having interest in drafting Wilson this past weekend.
Alex also posted his way-too-early 53-man roster prediction for 2024 on the site so we go through that position group by position group.
