Customer Reviews
All Killer No Filler
I should have written this review a long time ago (sorry Joe).
I belong on the weathered and road worn side of the troubadour spectrum referred to in Joe’s intro. I’ve loved the insights and stories his podcast delivers time and time again. Some resonate warmly while others reveal a new perspective or precious gem of knowledge.
Joe’s humble conversational interview style creates genuine and unguarded interactions with the feel of old friends catching up on long distance calls… they flow seamlessly from lifestyle issues to music theory and just like Townes might have suggested, it’s all for the sake of the song.
Thanks Joe, your show has become a valued part of my songwriting and performing journey. You’re a deep breath of fresh air while getting in a good stretch outside the van.
My Kind Of People
Really love listening to this podcast, even songwriters I haven’t yet heard of. Also enjoy Joe’s down-to-earth manner and conversation with his guests. As an Australian songwriter, it’s a great way to hang with my kind of people for an hour or so each day. Great topics covered.
My Favourite Podcast
I’m an artist/songwriter from Lakes Entrance, Australia who listens to this podcast religiously on my daily walk. I absolutely love the real, direct & honest approach Joe has with his extremely wide & eclectic array of different guests. After 20 years of slogging it out in the ever-challenging music business, it’s extremely refreshing to come across a show like this, which goes into great detail about the realities of our industry, with guests who have/are living it every step of the way.
Joe mixes witty & intelligent humour with raw, direct & no-B.S. honesty & integrity in every one of his chats, and I find them all extremely engaging & entertaining. And of course, I love discovering all these new artists each week too! Very much looking forward to hearing more episodes, and hopefully see Joe out here on the road in Australia sometime again in the future.
