Toorak Chat is a podcast created by staff and students at Toorak College in Mount Eliza, Victoria. One of our school values is Personal Growth, so we decided to document and share some empowering stories from some remarkable women across sport, business, fashion, art and more. Hosted by Principal of Toorak College, Kristy Kendall, Head of Digital Technologies Phil Carew and Marketing Assistant Jessica Poulter and co-hosted by our Year 11 Media students Mia Tikellis, Hannah Shippen and Alexa Rozakis.

Darwin-born Lorraine Kabbindi White is an artist and mentor living in Melbourne, Victoria. As a custodian of the culture and traditions of her people, she preserves the stories she learned as a child through her art.

Toorak Chat Ep 8 | Attorney-General Jill Hennessy
Jill Hennessy is the current Victorian Attorney-General and Minister for Workplace Safety. She previously served as the Minister for Health and Minister for Ambulance Services and held shadow ministerial roles for Public Transport, Anti-Corruption, Corrections, Crime Prevention and Women. Jill is an avid AFL Western Bulldogs supporter and is a mother of two girls.

Toorak Chat Ep 7 | Brooke Satchwell
Brooke Satchwell is a Melbourne-born actress, model and entrepreneur. During her time at Toorak College, she was cast in the hit television series, Neighbours. Playing the role of Anne, Brooke quickly became one of Australia’s most popular young actresses. Brooke has appeared on television, in many theatre productions and on film. She is currently starring in the new Australian television drama, SeaChange.

Toorak Chat Ep 6 | Georgia Connolly
Georgia Connolly is a horse rider based on the Mornington Peninsula. As a former Toorak College student, she was captain of the Equestrian team and discovered her passion for eventing and dressage. Now, she is the Inaugural Ambassador for the Victoria Racing Club and is the first Australian woman to compete in the Magnolia Cup at picturesque Goodwood Racecourse, a charity race in its seventh year.

Toorak Chat Ep 5 | Bianca Chatfield
Bianca Chatfield is a former Australian Olympic Netball player, media presenter and leadership consultant. Following her debut as an 18-year-old for the Australian Diamonds netball team, Bianca quickly established a name for herself as one of the toughest defenders in the sport. Bianca won both gold and silver medals at the Commonwealth Games alongside a host of premiership victories and awards. She was a contestant on The Block with her teammate Carla and currently features on House of Wellness, commentates the Netball and talks sport on ABC’s Offsiders.

Toorak Chat Ep 4 | Natalie Porter
Natalie Porter is a former Australian Olympic basketballer and entrepreneur. Natalie was drafted into the Women’s National Basketball Association in 2000 and won a silver medal with the Australian Opals Basketball team at the 2004 Athens Summer Olympics. She is also the 39th inductee of the Basketball Victoria Wall of Fame, making her the youngest recipient. Natalie is the founder and managing director of NPIRE Travel, specialising in sport and education tours.
