March Madness 2024: The "All Animals are 200 lbs Cage Match" Edition

March Madness 2024: The "All Animals are 200 lbs Cage Match" Edition

Here's the annual Tooth & Claw March Madness episode, wherein Jeff has decided the competition will be that all animals will all weigh exactly 200 pounds, and then fight in hypothetical 1-on-1 cage matches until the last one is standing.
We kind of try to operate under consistent logic and rules, but half the fun of these episodes is the delirium it devolves into by the end. We hope you find some value and entertainment in the chaos.

I love tooth and claw!!!!!!!😁

It is so interesting! I listen to it night and day! And I have the hoodie and t-shirt. This gets a 10,000 out of ten! From Daisy age 9.

Love this podcast!

This is a seriously underrated podcast. I really want to hear an Irukandji attack story please! What the hell is a sense of impending doom and how does it differ from the usual doom? I would love to hear your thoughts.

Cheaper than therapy!

Tooth & Claw is undoubtedly a ‘ten claw’ podcast for me, and easily takes out the number-one spot on my list of podcasts, when ranked from favourite to least-favourite.

My therapist recommended this podcast to me, and after listening to it, I quit therapy altogether!* You see, Tooth & Claw is much cheaper than therapy, and it has done more for me than therapy ever has…

The reason I went to therapy was wanting to better understand *why* people think and act the way that they do - in the hopes of quelling the fear that I had of other humans and their unpredictable behaviour; however, therapy only ever further instilled this crippling fear for me by further reinforcing the idea that, often… other humans kinda just suck. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

So, now I just ignore my fear of questionable human behaviour (after all, ignorance is bliss), *and* I have also been able to replace all of the ill-informed fear that I once held of the wildlife in this world, with new, ‘proper’/evidence-based fears… incredible!

For example, I was born and raised an hour north of Sydney, Australia; right between the beach and the bush, I have always lived in prime Funnel Web Spider territory. I learned from Tooth & Claw that Sydney Funnel Webs are likely the most dangerous spider in the world, because - despite being the second-most venomous spider - it almost ~never~ delivers a dry bite. So, whilst I have lived with an intense fear of these arachnids for the last thirty years, I now know that this fear was entirely warranted! Thanks, Wes, Mike and Jeff - you have now officially validated me more than my parents ever have! (Quick question…does this mean I can address you all with “ay, papi” now??). ❤️

Nah, for real tho, after listening to Tooth & Claw, I now feel confident in my knowledge of the actual (minimal) likelihood of ever experiencing a dangerous encounter with many different animal species across the globe, and what to do should I ever find myself in such a dicey situation.

After recently having finished all of the episodes that are available for free, Tooth & Claw will officially become the first podcast that I have ever subscribed (and re-listened) to - I honestly can’t get enough!

It is also important to me that they be able to continue making episodes of this beautifully reassuring, funny, gripping, educational show, as it contributes significantly to my will to live, by providing brief moments of reprieve from the impending doom that is the future.

Anywho, hoo roo!
Thank you, again, Wes, Mike and Jeff for creating the masterpiece that is Tooth & Claw!

Ellie

*Disclaimer: I didn’t actually quit therapy, but I did strongly consider it!
