Travun forced this girl to have sex for money and he took all of the money. Douglas Calhoun, or Chef Doug as he was called, answered one of these ads and ended up dead. Harry Thaw

    Harry Thaw

On June 25th, 1906 Harry Kendall Thaw fatally shot renowned architect Stanford White on a rooftop in New York City. The trial that followed was deemed the trial of the century and revealed numerous scandals that had been kept behind closed doors for years.

Join Mike and Gibby as they discuss Harry Thaw. Both Thaw and White fell in love with a girl named Evelyn Nesbit. Nesbit was called by some the Marilyn Monroe of her time. The feud between Harry Thaw and Stanford White escalated and ultimately ended in Thaw shooting White to death. The trials that followed introduced the public to a lot of information that was extremely scandalous in the early 1900s.

    Kristen Gilbert

    Kristen Gilbert

Kristen Gilbert was a nurse who committed at least four murders at a VA hospital in Massachusetts. But, authorities believe she could be responsible for many more deaths, maybe upwards of one hundred. This comes from the fact that during her time at the hospital, Kristen was on duty for more than 100 deaths.

Join Mike and Gibby as they discuss Kristen Gilbert. Kristen had a good childhood and many people who knew her had positive things to say about her. The one thing that has come up was that she craved attention and would lie and manipulate people to get that attention. Authorities believe this constant need for attention also had something to do with her murders. Did she murder to get the attention of a man in her life? Or, did she murder while trying to set up emergency situations where she could swoop in and get attention by being the savior?

    Kenneth McDuff

    Kenneth McDuff

Kenneth McDuff was a Texas serial killer known as “the broomstick killer.” In 1966 he murdered three innocent teenagers. Much to the public’s horror, he was released on parole in 1989. McDuff would go on to rape and kill more women. In total, he is suspected of as many as 14 murders.

Join Mike and Gibby as they discuss serial killer Kenneth McDuff. McDuff was the only Texas death row inmate to be released on parole and then return to death row. This was a man who just could not walk the straight and narrow, even after he was paroled after a death sentence. His crimes were horrific and every time he was caught he found someone to try to blame for his actions.

    Marc Dutroux Part 2

    Marc Dutroux Part 2

Marc Dutroux was a Belgian serial killer and child rapist. In 1989 Dutroux was convicted of five sexual assaults and sentenced to thirteen years in prison. He only served three years. Over the next four years, he kidnapped and raped young girls, some of whom he murdered. He had several accomplices, including his own wife. The case led to speculation about inefficiency and corruption in Belgian law enforcement and politics. The public denounced the police for failing to pursue leads and ignoring witnesses.

Join Mike and Gibby for the 2nd and final part of their discussion on Marc Dutroux. This remains one of Belgium’s most notorious criminal trials. On August 13th, 1996 Marc Dutroux and two accomplices, one his wife, were arrested for kidnapping two young girls. He led the police to five more bodies but claimed he didn’t kill the missing girls. He was part of an elaborate network that trafficked young girls for the Belgian elite. In this episode, we’ll discuss a parliamentary inquiry into the case, mysterious witness deaths, and Dutroux’s trial eight years after his arrest.

If your lovable Dad and Uncle made a podcast together

This podcast is so popular for a reason - the hosts steer clear of polarising opinions and politics - and that's perfectly fine - sometimes you want to be told a story and escape everything else in the world!

This is the podcast that your lovable Gen X, slightly nerdy and awkward Dad and Uncle would make together.

Hardcore True Crime fans might find this podcast a little basic because they tend to cover already well told stories and are not as in depth as others may be, but it's important to remember that not everyone is like us!! (haha)

Despite this, I listen almost every week - and I listen to and enjoy the the banter and the listener calls and emails. It's what makes the podcast so great!

Hmmmm

Just about to listen to my first episode and I’m turning it off I’m not really interested in the lives of the presenters, just want a story. My feedback is, can you just get straight into it.I skipped forward a few minutes and they still talking about themselves. Boring.
