True Deception is a fully improvised comedy True Crime story. We join investigators Clark McCarthy (Zach Jobe) and Owen Ingmar (Jake Jabbour) on their search for the truth about whatever mystery they feel they can exploit for personal gain. In Season 1 we follow their investigation into the disappearance of the enigmatic Brian Lind, a 47 year old bungee jumper and tactical paper-mâché enthusiast who was on his way to a Rainforest Cafe in Tyson's Corner VA when he went missing. Each week they interview hilarious comedians, all playing eccentric characters related to the case. Will they solve the case and more importantly will they get the glory and free stuff they feel entitled to?

The Extreme Sports Store (feat. Ian Gary)
Rob Van Winkle (Ian Gary) Brooklyn 99, Groundlings)) owns Tyson Corner's #1 Extreme Sports apparel store and he used to eat Arby's with Brian, among other things. He feels Brian is misunderstood and while he gives the reporters no leads, he does open up and that is a rich tapestry in and unto itself.

The Sky Diving Bully (feat. Mark David Christenson)
Owen and Clark talk to a man untethered from the earth and possible his own sanity, Dax Todd (Mark David Christenson (Ah Crap, A Hellboy Podcast, Conan, UCB)) a self-proclaimed sky-diving bully who lives out of a cigarette shaped RV. He doesn't seem to have had anything to do with Brian's disappearance, but then again he's a bully trying to untether folks so who can really say? Certainly not our hosts.

This week Owen and Clark talk with Brian's first kidnapper, Crime Central (Anisha Jagannathan (Shameless)) as she explains her early friendship/hostage-ship with Brian and her plans to kidnap Clark and hopefully Owen. The Improv Coach (feat. Will Hines)
Owen and Clark interview Brian's improv coach, Stan Tingle (Will Hines, Greatest Improv School, How to be the Greatest Improviser on Earh, Wrecked) who worked with Brian for six months. In those six months Stan and Brian had a big impact on one another. Brian was pushed to brawl and become more insane through Stan's tough notes and Stan got into cocaine and a mayoral campaign.
