    Tom Tanuki

    Tom Tanuki

Tom Tankuki is a Journalist, Comedian, Activist, and socio-political commentator.
Tom has a show at the Melbourne Fringe Festival - Anti-Lockdown Ode - which is running online from the 5th to the 10th of October. There are links in the show notes to this and of course where you can find & support Tom online.
Tom and I had a great yarn, going into the conspiracy theorist and far-right element of the recent demonstrations in Melbourne. We also unpack some structural elements in this movement, the leaders, their motivation, and how they are weaponising peoples desperation to suit their own agenda.
Self-identifying as an anti-fascist activist, Tom breaks down what the term means in today's climate and how we can use the most effective tactics to combat Neo-Nazism and Far-Right narratives and end games.

    Annie McCasland-Pexton

    Annie McCasland-Pexton

Joining me in this edition is Ex-Lawyer turned Craniosacral Therapist, Author and Host of the Baby in the Bathwater podcast Annie McCasland-Pexton.
Annie’s podcast dissects ideologies in the health & wellness industry, far-right and conspiracy theories built deep into that industry, and whether anything is salvageable whilst eradicating the bad actors and toxic ideas.
We had a very enjoyable discussion and covered some topics which are important and very close to home for me.

    Sinks

Sinks is a Melbourne rapper, and forward thinking human.
He joins the Tuna Fat Podcast to share thoughts and discuss the sociopolitical landscape of Australia in 2021. We also get to talking about music and where inspiration is coming from for creators in such a dark and isolated time in our lives.
"Terror Australis" is an album Sinks released in 2020, and we hear my favourite track "They Know (Phil Gektor remix)".

Apocaloptimists LIVE with Bo Kitty & Skwid

Bo Kitty & Skwid go LIVE for a Facebook broadcast as the Apocaloptimists...
Taking comments and questions from the viewers, we navigated our way through current affairs & topics with no pre-meditated agenda and a whole lot of passion. This dynamic exchange covered such polarising issues as covid, vaccines, lockdowns, the state of Australian politics and much more mixed in with a healthy dose of salt and realism.
Bo is the founder of Reality Check and has just launched a few new t-shirt designs, which is what sparked this conversation. You can find those tee's HERE !

Grace Boxshall (Fungi Sight) - Mycologist

Grace Boxshall (Fungi Sight) - Mycologist

Grace Boxshall is a Mycologist based in Melbourne. She spent her Masters degree researching the toxicity a mushroom which is commonly known as a yellow-staining Agaricus.
I first learnt of the research Grace was doing in 2018 when I poisoned myself with a wild Agaricus which had shown all the signs to be an edible variety.
Grace is also a founding member of Fungi Sight, a group who catalog and study various mushroom species in Australia.
It was great chatting with Grace about all things Agaricus, mushrooms, and I even learnt how to extract DNA in my own home!
