UCL Provost's Spirit of Enterprise Award 2013 Nominee: Professor Nick Fox - Video UCL Enterprise Awards 2013 - Video

    • Entrepreneurship

As part of his research into early diagnosis in Alzheimer's disease, Professor Nick Fox has developed innovative image-analysis methods. Recognizing the powerful potential of his techniques to monitor progression in therapeutic trials, he actively engaged with industry and his technique was adopted by dozens of commercial multi-centre trials, becoming the “industry-standard” for atrophy progression. Nick Fox established an internationally-renowned image analysis trials team at UCL which has brought major contracts to the UK and UCL (income exceeding £5m over last 5 years), including the analysis for the largest study of immunotherapy in Alzheimer’s disease (~8000 brain scans). He was also pivotal to the award of the Leonard Wolfson Experimental Neurology Centre at UCL, which is a major attraction to industry.
