A personal transformation podcast aimed mainly at GenX’rs who are burned out from the revved-up mindset that has driven them to where they are—both professionally and personally—and are searching for more fulfilling, authentic and meaningful ways to move forward. The show's format is set up as lively conversations, storytelling and sharing of advice between host, Jeff Smith and his various guests—all of whom have had a unique and distinct experience of metaphorically shifting from "vrooming" to "veering" in how they've approached certain aspects of their lives.

BOV – Matt Miller – We grow in the Valleys of Life

BOV – Matt Miller – We grow in the Valleys of Life

Matt Miller spent the first 9 years of his career as an Air Force pilot, before entering the corporate world to work at both Abbott Laboratories and Valassis. While a top performer for both companies, his long term desire was to start a business and be his own boss. A good friend one day mentioned the gum ball machines he and his young daughters owned, and that conversation began a 10 year business quest that has brought Matt's franchise company, School Spirit Vending, to the cutting edge of both the vending and school fundraising industries. Today, the School Spirit Vending franchise is helping professionals across the country develop more freedom and security, while supporting local schools at the same time.

    Matt Miller Vroom Veer Stories

    * Achieved a big win at a sales job, ranked #2 in sales for the company.

    * Boss increased his sale quota by over 80% and set him up to fail; cost him $80k

    * Matt was denied a payday loan, you don't even need a credit score to get a payday loan

    * The hard part about driving a C-5 Galaxy in the Air Force is on the ground, not in the air.

    * There is no growth at the peak of the mountain...it's rocks and snow.  In the valley there is lots of growth.

    * A business idea starts as buying a gum ball machine on E-bay for 35 bucks.  Now it's a franchise.

    * Business systems that support your life, not a life that supports your business

Thane Marcus Ringler Vroom Veer Stories

    * What is hope and why does Jim Carey think hope is a beggar? We don't know, what do you mean Jim?* Faith, hope, and love are all required to stay in a healthy optimistic mind set; hope is staying positive, faith is knowing without seeing and love is the opposite of fear * The American Dream can focus too much on safety and security; in reality there is no safety and all things pass...the good and the bad.* We are all a "process" until we die; as Buffy said, I'm not cookies; I;m still dough; progress is always baby steps* Discipline has a negative connotation but it really will create more freedom by creating more space and time for what is possible* Self Awareness is key to so many things in life in helping you take more responsibility for your life* Mediation creates space for you to grow your consciousnesses and your self awareness

Best of VVV – Kristin Thompson – Rocking and Laughing to Success

Kristin Thompson's popularity has skyrocketed as she's gained recognition in recent years as a top speaker and coach helping purpose-driven entrepreneurs, coaches and consultants grow their business by speaking their mission and serving their purpose in a way that naturally transitions more prospects into paying clients.  Using speaking as her top marketing strategy Kristin has built a multiple six-figure business working 3 days a week, and she wants to show you how to do the same.

    Kristin Thompson Vroom Veer Stories

    * Made a conscious choice with her husband to veer away from the corporate job to raise a family

    * Found an amazing opportunity earning great money as a speaker...with no speaking experience (gulp)

    * Learned she really loved speaking and made it the foundation of her business

    * Burnt out her adrenals and learned she had to invest in self care

    * When you are over tired you don't notice until AFTER you get some good sleep

    * Told her assistant NOT to book her lunch break, even if she tells her too

    * Great story about making more money and not feeling "the rush" of victory
