Customer Reviews
Dogs, fun and banter
Great information about all things dogs
Great podcast
As a breeder of 47 years and and also a judge of 35+ years, how refreshing it is to have a Podcast that is about our great hobby/sport/entertainment.
The topic of Dogs, their functions, behaviours, and construction is so fascinating. Keep up the good work.
I am an Australian, who for the last 3 years, have been living, showing and judging in Europe. Loving seeing all the different breeds we do not have in Australia, and experiencing the different attitudes to dogs here, love being able to hav me dog in the hotels and restaurants when travelling for shows.
Learning all the different rules and regulations of showing, breeding and making up champions has been interesting.
However, some things leave me shaking my head, such as in the country I live (Austria), it is illegal under Cruelty Act, to cut the whiskers of a dog, and in fact, Exhibitors have been fined for doing so, after the Veterinary Association had inspectors at a show checking dogs. At the same show, also checking and ruling out several Brachy dogs from competition.
What the Bark
Interesting histories of the background behind two organisations that support the health of dogs, and help dog breeders and owners, as told by their founders/cofounders. Orivet - genetic testing, and RightPaw. Touches on some of the changes in the world of dog ownership and breeding, which will hopefully be further explored in future podcasts. A great introductory session worth listening to, and leaves you wanting to hear much more of many of the topics touched on.
