Grief Meets Existential Dread
In this episode we're going deep, talking about a very common but rarely discussed issue in grief: existential dread. Loss can make us face big questions about life and purpose. It makes us face our own mortality. This week we talk about what it's like to gaze long into the abyss. We reflect on our own discomfort with death (and our comfort with that discomfort).
We don't have ads or a patreon. What helps us most is if you join the WYG hub for grief learning and connection. Open for summer cohort through May 31, 2023 and will then reopen in the autumn. Helpful
Having lost my daughter 3 years ago (feels like yesterday) finally someone that knows what it is like - we have changed, we are never the same and the loss is forever on our minds. If I don’t feel like doing something I don’t - don’t pressure yourself in getting your life back to what it was before- accept that life changes and we need to find our new path with our angels watching over us.
Good when they get to the point
As someone who has just recently lost her Mom, I was recommended this podcast by a grief counsellor. I understand the idea of being relatable, but given the episodes are about 30 minutes in length, the first ten minutes are utterly useless banter that are not only unhelpful, but take away from the legitimacy of their message and information they eventually touch the surface on, then redirect you again and again to their website. This podcast has been helpful in educating me that other grief podcasts exist where the focus is not on self promotion. They also have excellent topics that I’ve been able to use as thought starters to find other content that is useful and engaging.
Grief is the worst, this podcast is the best! 😘
I am so grateful to have found this podcast. Losing my beautiful Mum suddenly and unexpectedly has left me reeling and disoriented. “What’s your grief” podcast helps me to recalibrate and normalise what I am going through. Litsa and Eleanor are a joy to listen to and cover the good, the bag and the ugly of all things grief (Mum is a huge Clint Eastwood fan 😜). I highly recommend this podcast to anyone grieving, supporting someone who is grieving or just wants to expand their knowledge on the subject. Ladies, thank you for all of your hard work in creating this for us all xx
