Engaging and well written
This story has me hooked! The story is well written and it is easy visualise what is happening with the excellent sound effects. You can’t help but get attached to the characters. Don’t listen too this at night time though 😵💫
An interesting story with a few flaws
I’ve been binging the White Vault for a couple of months now. It’s absolutely the kinda of creepy paranormal story I love! However, it’s far from perfect.
Pros: The concept of the villain/s is something I’ve not experienced yet. Very cool and unnerving! The use of multiple nationalities and languages is unique and adds many interesting quirks and layers to characters. The sound design (best with good headphones) is quite well produced and at times unnoticeably effective! Which is exactly what you want in an immersive experience. I notice little touches here and there that I’m sure the team are proud of, such as how the melodic theme is consistent between seasons but the instrumentation better matches the country you’re currently in. *tips hat*
Cons: Some of the voice acting is great but many characters just feel forced and laboured. Occasionally it feels obvious that they’re not recording together as dialogue and tone feels mismatched. And some VAs are just plain bad actors, to be brutally honest, which is a shame. The only downside with the multiple languages is that many characters waffle on in their native tongue for far too long. People don’t speak that long in a language that others around them won’t understand. What’s the obsession with coffee?? I like the stuff but the amount of times it’s mentioned each episode would make for a terribly short drinking game… Honestly, it’s just odd. Lastly, the story meanders aimlessly at times, leaving me feeling impatient and unfulfilled. Oftentimes, I’ve tuned out and miss pivotal plot twists.
Anyways, I hope this wasn’t too harsh. I am thoroughly enjoying this. If it can be tightened up in some key areas, it would rival audio dramas like Fathom and Celeritas.

Series 6 review
This is a personal reflection. I am finding series 6 less interesting: the characters feel less mature, more 'needy' and juvenile and harder to like or engage with. This feels like a YA podcast. I hope the series regains its 'mojo'. Again, this is simply a personal and no reflection on the effort put in or individual performances.
