280 episodes

There are hundreds of Doctor Who episodes and stories out there and we intend to watch them all! Not just that – We’ll watch, review, discuss, debate, rate and praise and/or poke holes in every episode of Doctor Who, starting with the 1963 pilot. That’s right; we’re beginning with William Hartnell and then working our way forward through time, episode by episode and Doctor by Doctor. In parallel, we're also reviewing New Who, starting with Eccleston in the 2005 revival. At the time of writing this, we're already well into the Tom Baker and Matt Smith eras!

From comparing Dalek and Cybermen military strategems to ranking companions by hairstyle, we’ve got it covered. And while you subscribe to us on iTunes, we’re populating WhoBackWhen.com with written reviews, episode statistics and an ever-growing visual index of aliens, creatures, historical figures and companions that the Doctor meets along the way.

Rlukkk ,

Really, very excellent.

Who Back When are grinding their way through every episode of Doctor Who, so you don't have to. The episodes - Classic Who, New Who, Audio Who - consist of blow-by-blow reviews of each story arc, interspersed with insightful commentary, speculative commentary, and occasionally completely exasperated commentary, meaning you can catch up on all those early stories in the comfort of your own earholes. You could even watch the stories themselves, I suppose. By why would you, when Ponken and friends are happy to do the dirty work for you. Simultaneously they are reviewing all the New Whos (2005 reboot onwards) in order, as well as the Audiobook adventures, and a whole bunch of miscellaneous Bonus reviews (xmas episodes, Doctor retrospectives, news and announcements, drunken bloopers). I was a complete Who ignoramus before listening to this podcast, and now I can proudly say that I am only a partial Who ignoramus. Perhaps with a few more Who Back Whens under my belt I can grow to be a Who buffoon. Also, the show is amusing, I should have mentioned that.
