    Snoochie boochies!

Thank you so much for making the show possible by supporting the show! Here is an [early!] extended cut of our conversation about Clerks as a token of our gratitude for said support! This chat is an early birthday gift to ourselves (we are both Earth Day babies), so thanks so much for hanging with us. We appreciate you!

If you want to give us a birthday gift, we'd love a review over on Apple Podcasts (or wherever you listen.)

Out of curiosity, do you observe any birthday traditions?

    Mannequin w. River Butcher

    Mannequin w. River Butcher

In which we and our wonderful friend River Butcher go to 80s Philadelphia to sneak in some delightful hang-time with Meshach Taylor, Kim Cattrall, Estelle Getty and James Spader, Andrew McCarthy, and Andrew McCarthy's moped.

We give a bit of disclaimer in the intro, but we hit a little snag with the audio on this one and so we had to use the backup. Think of it as a Zoom meeting at work, only it's with us and River Butcher talking about Mannequin instead and your boss isn't there.

Believe it or not, we'll follow this up with another episode about Mannequin 2 in April AND ANOTHER about The Iron Claw!

Hey! Thank you SO MUCH for supporting You Are Good! You, my friend, are good! We appreciate you!

Why Are Rads

Obsessed with this podcast. I’ve binged almost every single episode. Sarah, Alex and their guests are such great company. They’ve changed the way I think, and even changed the way I talk. In a really big way.

Friends in my ears

Sarah and Alex warm my heart and improve my brain. They’re so clever, so funny, so NICE. I love this podcast. I watch movies with brand new eyes after listening to what they say about them, and get to experience movies I could never watch myself (I’m looking at you, ‘Saw’ franchise) with insights from very human perspectives. These two have gotten me through really hard mental health times (basically the whole last 4 years) by just giving me friends in my ears while I get through my days. Love them.

Delightful, heartwarming, funny and genuine

This is one of my favourite podcasts I’ve ever listened to. Alex and Sarah chat films in a way that’s relaxed, accessible and hilarious, exploring the themes and narratives in a natural way through the conversation with their guest. There is no air of pretentiousness about quality or perceived merit of the films from them, just a genuine, fun, intimate discussion about the films we all watch over and over for some reason or another, or have fond but distant memories of from our younger years. They approach every film at face value, which opens up conversation to far more interesting places than other film podcasts, and don’t look down on your favourite films that perhaps you don’t broadcast to everyone you meet right away… (*cough* Twister *cough*). Alex and Sarah often voice some of the interesting things you might feel or learn from rewatching your childhood faves or finally watching films that it felt like everyone in the world had seen but you. Films that are problematic by today’s standards (sometimes problematic by standards at the time they were made, too…) are discussed generously and with nuance, and give you food for thought rather than making you feel bad for still enjoying something that may have aged poorly, but holds a special place in your heart or provides a lot of nostalgia for you. Listeners aren’t told what we should or shouldn’t feel about a film. It’s always a sensitive and considered conversation, but in such a fun and familiar way. Highly recommend, even if you haven’t seen the films they discuss! (Also, the best part of every episode: “What is [insert movie name] about, you ask? Well, let me tell you!” said by a slightly hysterical Sarah after a tangential but hilarious discussion after just 2 seconds of trying to break down the plot.)
