    Greg Zinis, PharmD, shares his journey into real estate investing and how he donates a week of his short-term rental to military families. About Today's Guest Gregory Zinis was born and raised in the vibrant landscapes of Michigan, where his youth was filled with soccer games, hunting excursions, fishing trips, snowboarding adventures, and garage-building projects. Immersed in the state's rich outdoor culture, he developed a profound appreciation for adventure and craftsmanship. He pursued preliminary courses at Northern Michigan University before earning his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Ferris State University. With a vision of escaping to a larger, sunlit city with surfing opportunities, he found his new home in Virginia. Since 2009, Gregory has made a significant impact as a community pharmacist in Hampton Roads, where he has diligently supported patients with prescriptions, vaccines, health tests, and comprehensive medication therapy management. In 2010, he embarked on a new journey by purchasing his first home, which has been a versatile asset, serving as his primary residence as well as both short-term and long-term rental. In his personal life, Gregory met and married his wife, Ashley, and together they have a bustling household of four children, two dogs, and two cats. During the pandemic, Gregory took a strategic year off amidst a company downsizing, which provided him with the opportunity to delve deeply into real estate and undertake a renovation of his primary residence in Ocean View, Norfolk. This transformative experience ignited a passion for real estate, leading him to earn his Realtor license in 2024. Now, Gregory is dedicated to helping others navigate the exciting journey of home ownership with the same enthusiasm and expertise that have defined his career. With many lessons learned along the way, Dr. Emmel reflects on trusting his intuition, leaning on mentors, working hard and staying curious. About Today's Guest Aaron Emmel graduated with his Doctor of Pharmacy Degree from the University of Florida in 2007. After a short stint as a staff pharmacist at Walgreens, he was afforded an opportunity to work as a clinical pharmacist at his local community hospital. He developed a passion for critical care medicine and spent years as the dedicated ICU pharmacist. In 2015, he earned his Masters in Healthcare Administration from the University of North Florida. With a goal of moving into executive health system leadership, he transitioned into a role as the Director of the Clinically Integrated Network and ACO owned by the hospital and local physicians. He served in this role until 2018, when he made the decision to transition into the pharmaceutical industry where we worked in Medical Affairs roles until his decision to end employment in 2024.  Aaron launched his first business, SmarterMeds, in 2010. Focusing on MTM services, he learned many lessons on entrepreneurship and business before abandoning the effort in 2012. He first began consulting in 2014, and significantly increased this work following his departure from the hospital in 2018. In 2020, he launched Pharmacy Tech Scholar, an online education program for individuals interested in becoming certified pharmacy technicians. He also invests in real estate. Aaron has been married to his high school sweetheart, Allison, since 2010. They have two amazing daughters, aged 8 and 11. In his spare time, Aaron loves traveling with the family, fishing, exercising, and fueling his coffee obsession. Momi Talukdar, MS, PharmD Candidate 2024 is a graduate of Northeast Ohio Medical University College of Pharmacy. She's an incoming nuclear pharmacist at PETNET in Cleveland, OH. Along with her passion for nuclear pharmacy, she loves teaching nuclear pharmacy as an adjunct faculty at University of Wisconsin LaCrosse. Perrigrine is passionate about advocating for people with disabilities, especially in healthcare, as she is also a person with physical disabilities.
