Your unique value proposition is how you specifically can win more business, attract more success, and build a strong brand just by being yourself.

Your values are the foundation of your personal brand. Having a strong personal brand does 2 main things:
It attracts the opportunities, people, companies, and experiences that are in alignment with your values.  It also repels the things that are not meant for you.

To find out what are your unique values, we invite you to consider the following questions:

What do I stand for? What is my story? How do I serve? How do I show up for others?
You can download a worksheet here that guides you through this process in detail.

What do I stand for?

The first step to define your unique value proposition is to find values that are the most aligned with you. A good practice is to find 5 values that are the closest to you. You can find a list of values to evaluate in the worksheet.

Here are Allison’s 5 pairs of unique values as an example:
Growth and Learning Kindness and Generosity Love and Joy Community and Connection Authenticity and Leadership

What is my story?

The best way to convey your values and allow people to get to know you better is to share your story. So start thinking about the various different stories that you can share that demonstrate your values and how you embody them.

If you're not excited about going on social media and sharing a specific story about yourself, an easy way to dip your toe into the water is to express your values through other people’s stories. You can think about the leaders within your industry or in your life who inspire and motivate you and with who you share your values.

We invite you to think about one step you can take today to start embracing your unique values and share your unique stories with the world.

How do I serve others?

There is a very simple formula that can help you answer this last question and find your own value proposition.

“I help [the market you serve] with [the problem you solve], by [solution you provide] so that [the transformation can occur].”

Here’s a sample value proposition:

“I help multifamily owners who are overwhelmed with property management to implement systems and processes so that they're able to spend more time enjoying the dividends of ownership. “

Tying it all together, we invite you to take this framework and implement it. Let's figure out what are the 5 unique values that you bring to the table, what are some stories that you can share about yourself that embody those values, and how do you help others?

If you want to learn more about building your personal brand and finding your unique values, then download our worksheet here. We hope you’ll find tremendous value in this exercise and takes your company to the next level.
