Mindfulness by Wendy Saunders
In this session, Wendy Saunders will introduce you to the concept of mindfulness, the practice of mindfulness of breathing, mindfulness tools, and fun ways to incorporate mindfulness into your day. Additionally, this podcast highlights how anyone of any faith can integrate mindfulness into their daily life and gain the benefits of doing so. Wendy is a Certified Instructor in CBCT (Cognitively-Based Compassion Training), a program of Emory University that teaches course participants methods for cultivating mindfulness and compassion to reduce stress and increase happiness and care for others and oneself.

To Serve Others, First Serve Yourself
Beth Mack shares that with over 22 million members, the Y has the ability to have a positive impact on population health measures including physical activity. However, an occupational shift from more labor-intensive positions to more technology-based and highly-skilled positions, has created a negative impact on our staff’s ability to be physically active. While we may not be able to modify our work roles to eliminate sedentary work, we can build in opportunities throughout the day for self-care to include intentional moments for flexibility, strength and physical activity.
