02.Where is the Church? Prison Edition: Antoinette Hancel Where is the Church? Prison Edition

    • Non-Profit

This month we speak with Antoinette Hancel. After completing her first degree, Antoinette joined the Probation Service working with adult offenders, mainly men, either whilst they were in prison to ensure a successful chance of rehabilitation, on release and with those who  received community disposals to help them gain access to life-changing opportunities. This led her onto a lengthy tenure in the Youth Justice Services where she moved up the ranks to  senior management, overseeing the local authority’s provision to young offenders. During her career journey she has held various social work positions in a number of boroughs, in their Children and Young People’s Service, qualified as a secondary school teacher and been awarded the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development’s Certificate in Training Practice. Her most recent position has been Head of Safeguarding and Inclusion at a school for children with Special Educational Needs. Her desire is to continue  on her path of lifelong learning to become fully equipped to live out  her passion, which is to work with the most disadvantaged and disaffected groups in society, to improve the quality of their lives.

We want to gather a group of people with a passion to help those at risk of going to prison, in prison or just coming out of prison. If you feel that is you, and you would like training visit our website. whereisthechurch.co.uk
