Padres, después de tomar la difícil decisión de llevar a su hijo a terapia, ¿qué viene después? Ahora ha dado un gran paso al decidir apoyar a su hijo de esta manera, pero ¿Qué sigue después? Ahora contestamos algunos conceptos erróneos y preguntas que usted puede tener después de que su hijo comience a asistir a las sesiones de terapia.

Parents, after making the difficult decision to take your child to therapy, what comes next? You have now taken a big step in deciding to support your child this way but where do you go from here? We now address some misconceptions and questions that you may have after your child starts attending therapy sessions.

Si usted comienza a darse cuenta de que su hijo(a) podría beneficiarse de los servicios de terapia o el maestro de su hijo(a) lo sugiere, puede que tenga sentimientos encontrados a la vez.  Pueda que sienta ansiedad, un poco de preocupación o tal vez algunos sentimientos de vergüenza. Pueda que hasta se sienta como un “mal” padre.  ¡No se preocupe!  Estaremos abordando algunos de estos sentimientos que surgen cuando usted está pensando en obtener este apoyo para su hijo.  También estaremos contestando unas preguntas que usted pueda tener, pero por temor, no las hace a su terapeuta.

Whether you start noticing that you child could benefit from therapy services or your child's teacher suggests it, you may experience multiple feelings at once. You may feel anxious, a little worried, or may experience feelings of shame. You may also be left feeling as a "bad" parent. Don't Worry! We are addressing some of these feelings that may emerge when you are considering engaging in therapy as a support for your child. We are also answering questions that you may feel too embarrassed to ask a therapist.
