    27. [INTERVIEW] Eating Disorder To Ultra Runner with Morgan Lee

In today's episode I sit down with Morgan and talk to her about her journey with an eating disorder, and how finding running as her passion helped to pull her out of that darkness.

She was even so brave as to write a book about her struggles! I'm truly inspired by this military wife and mamma, and think that if you or someone you know is dealing with an eating disorder, you should listen to this episode and also grab a copy of this book!

    23. [INTERVIEW] Part I: Vanessa Miller on being a mom, wife, military spouse.

    23. [INTERVIEW] Part I: Vanessa Miller on being a mom, wife, military spouse.

Vanessa and I met over a decade ago before either of us had kids or lived on the east coast. Since then, we have both lived through so many chapters filled with the highs and lows of life. I wanted to interview Vanessa because she is a hard-working woman doing all the things,
and I get asked frequently for stories and/or advice from other women who are doing hard things and getting through it.

Vanessa is a real estate agent with Caul Group
in North Carolina, a group fitness instructor, a boy mom, and a military spouse. In this episode we talk about:

    - What it’s like to rebuild yourself after divorce

    - Integrating into the military life

    - Prenatal depression

    - What it was like for her as a new mom and the guilt she felt for not feeling excited during her pregnancy

    - The hardships of military life

    - Making friends when you’re always on the move

    I hope you enjoy!

    22. [INTERVIEW Part II] Amy Darracott- Certified Lactation Counselor

    22. [INTERVIEW Part II] Amy Darracott- Certified Lactation Counselor

This is the second half of my interview with Amy! I am interviewing a local CLC (certified lactation counselor), and asking her all the things about breast feeding and pumping, from drinking and breast feeding to breast feeding with implants. I wish I had someone like Amy in my corner when I was attempting what seemed like one of the most daunting tasks I've ever had to go through.

Breastfeeding and Alcohol: Moderate alcohol consumption by a breastfeeding mother (up to 1 standard drink per day) is not known to be harmful to the infant, especially if the mother waits at least 2 hours before breastfeeding. The alcohol level in breast milk is essentially the same as the alcohol level in a mother’s bloodstream. Expressing or pumping milk after drinking alcohol, and then discarding it (“pumping and dumping”), does NOT reduce the amount of alcohol present in the mother’s milk more quickly. As the mother’s alcohol blood level falls over time, the level of alcohol in her breast milk will also decrease. The highest alcohol levels in milk occur 30 to 60 minutes after an alcoholic beverage.
