Psalm 46
God is our Refuge
Intro
A. BECAUSE OF GOD’S CHARACTER, WE WILL NOT FEAR NATURAL DISASTERS
(Psalm 46:1-3).
1) The character of God (Psalm 46:1).
2) Based on God’s character, there is no reason to fear even if the world is in chaos (Psalm 46:2-3).
B. BECAUSE GOD IS PRESENT WITH US, WE WILL BE SECURE FROM INVADING ARMIES (Psalm 46:4-7).
1) The city of God is glad because God is there (Psalm 46:4).
2) God’s presence protects His people from all their enemies (Psalm 46:5-6).
3) REFRAIN (Psalm 46:7). “The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our stronghold.”
C. BECAUSE GOD CAN AND WILL END WAR WORLD-WIDE, AND BE EXALTED IN THE EARTH, WE CAN TRUST IN HIS PRESENCE AND PROTECTION (Psalm 46:8-11).
1) All are commanded to come and see the works of God (Psalm 46:8).
2) The Lord makes wars to cease to the end of the earth (Psalm 46:9).
3) GOD SPEAKS! “CEASE, BE STILL” (Psalm 46:10):
4) REFRAIN (Psalm 46:11) - “The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our stronghold.” Sung twice (Psalm 46:7).

Intro
A. THE PORTRAIT OF THE LAW OF THE LORD (Psalm 19:7-9).
1. The law of the LORD is perfect, restoring the soul.
2. The testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.
3. The precepts of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart.
4. The commandments of the LORD are pure, enlightening the eyes.
5. The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring forever.
6. The judgments of the LORD are true, they are righteous altogether.
B. THE DESIRABILITY OF THE LAW OF THE LORD (Psalm 19:10-11).
1. Its value – more desirable than fine gold.
2. Its sweetness – sweeter than honey from the honeycomb.
3. Its warning.
4. Its reward.
C. THE RESPONSE TO THE LAW OF THE LORD (Psalm 19:12-14).
1. A prayer for acquittal and protection (Psalm 19:12-13).
2. A prayer of dedication (Psalm 19:14).

A. GOD’S REVELATION IN CREATION (Psalm 19:1-6).

b. Heavens are telling the glory of God.
c. Expanse is declaring the work of His hands.
2. The message of the day and night (Psalm 19:2).
a. “day to day pours forth speech” -
