Parenting, Diversity Inclusion and Mastering It All, an interview with Jada Jones

Parenting, Diversity Inclusion and Mastering It All, an interview with Jada Jones

Welcome to Season 1, Episode 9.

Today I interview Jada Jones, a woman who knows what it means to live life fully and truly Master It All.  Not only is she a mother to 3 young children (4 year old and 10 month old twins), but she (and her husband) also work as a Reservists serving full time active duty.  Jada has her BBA and MBA in finance and is a finance officer (Major) in the US Army, coming up on 20 years in August. In High School she enjoyed a full career of competitive sports (track, volleyball and basketball) as well as band (clarinet and drum major), proving that when she puts herself out there she really can do it all.

Jada is currently establishing her coaching/teaching/mentoring career called M.I.A :  Master It All, where she is working specifically with empowering females to "Master their Lives."  Recently, Jada has been invited to speak on TWO TEDx platforms where she will spread her passion and purpose about believing in yourself and living your best life.

In our interview we discuss a wide range of topics, from parenting, to racial awareness and what it takes to be a working mother while being in alignment with your power, passion and purpose.

Autism Awareness Month: and I just learned my daughter has autism

Autism Awareness Month: and I just learned my daughter has autism

In this episode (Season 1, Episode 8) I detail my journey as a mother of a (newly diagnosed) autistic daughter. In honor of Autism Awareness Month (or, more appropriately, Autism Acceptance Month), I dive into the hardships of receiving a diagnosis, differences in how individuals experience autism, and my personal experience. As a Speech Language Pathologist, I have significant history working with people on the autism spectrum, which greatly impacted the way I recognized symptoms in my own daughter's behavior. Signs of autism are often dismissed or misdiagnosed, especially in girls and women. I shine some light on why this might be the case and offer advice for parents as they enter this process.

Please comment, rate and subscribe, pass this along to a friend...let me know what you think and any questions you may have.  I love hearing from my listeners!  Thank you!
