Substance Abuse and Recovery NFCC's Guide Through the Seasons of Mental Wellness

    • Mental Health

Finding gratitude on your journey to sobriety may seem impossible when you are facing the challenges of being a substance user. But you are not alone. Family support, treatment, counseling, and a recovery community have been key in the successful journey to sobriety that today's guest, Jay, talks about in this episode.
About our Guest
Jay Magness struggled with substance abuse in his teens and early twenties. After hitting a huge milestone of being sober for a little over a decade, Jay openly shares about his journey, knowing that his story can help others. As a man with a lot of roles - husband, father, son, brother, director, friend. Jay has served as an advisory board member at Nick Finnegan Counseling Center for the past three years, with hopes of connecting individuals and families to get the help that they deserve. His goal is to share his experience, strength, and hope to help the next person who may be struggling. If you'd like to take Jay up on his offer to meet for a chat, email us, and we'll connect you!
Meet Our Host Anna Crain is a Licensed Master of Social Work and Nick Finnegan Counseling Center's, Lead Outreach Counselor. Anna holds a bachelor’s degree from Texas Christian University (TCU) and a master’s degree in social work from the University of Southern California (USC).

She has had the opportunity to help clients work through several challenges such as anxiety, grief and loss, ADHD, ASD, life-stressors and trauma both individually and through groups.
