This is chapter 2 of Grettir's saga, written by Allen French. Grettir's saga is one of the most famous sagas told in Iceland, which supposedly took place between the ninth and the eleventh centuries in Iceland and Norway. In chapter two Christmas time arrived and Throfinn and many of his men left their island to celebrate Yule at the mainland, thinking his family save with Grettir and eight other men to protect his family and belongings. However, Thorir Paunch and Ogmund the Evil, two infamous outlaws, landed at the Island with many men and threaten the safety of all people living there. Will Grettir defeat the outlaws?
