Why I Don't Include Reading and Writing In My ESL Class Before Age 8 Adriana Cantisani- Bilingualism, Teaching, & Kids

In my method, English is Fun!, we don't introduce children to written English before the age of approximately 8. (Sometimes even 9). This may sound strange to many ESL teachers but insisting on early reading and writing of a second language could make learning to read and write the child's native language that much harder.
