“A Muslim & A Jew Go There” is a brand new podcast produced by Instinct Productions, hosted by comedian David Baddiel (author of “Jews Don’t Count”) and politician Sayeeda Warsi (“Muslims Don’t Matter”) who will take on whatever controversy hits the headlines each week, providing context and discussion around current political and cultural events involving and affecting British Muslims and Jews.
Covering topics from antisemitism in the Labour party and Islamophobia in the Conservative Party to debating concepts like “racism hierarchies”, “non-visible minorities” and “victim olympics”, as well as tropes and stereotypes, and the Middle East and its impact on Jewish and Muslim communities in Britain, this topical, often funny podcast will go there in a way others might not dare.

The Muslim vote, Rafah despair and graffitied cinemas
A General Election has been called, and David & Sayeeda discuss the Muslim vote and whether Gaza will be top of the agenda for voters, and whether the election campaign will be dominated by divisive rhetoric.
David & Sayeeda then reflect on the terrible images that have been coming out of Rafah this week, as well as the screening of a documentary about the horrors of October 7th which led to accusations of 'artwashing' and violent protests in East Finchley, North London. But what were the protests about and how have the far right somehow managed to co-opt them again?
Also Spain, Norway and Ireland have recognised the state of Palestine. It is high time the UK followed suit?

A new Jew and the ICC arrest warrants
David’s away, so Sayeeda is joined by journalist and new Jew for the week Hugo Rifkind. They discuss Hugo's Scottish Jewishness, Jews as an ethnic minority and those against multiculturalism, as well as the International Criminal Court’s recent application for arrest warrants for the Israeli PM, defence minister and three Hamas leaders. Are war crimes inevitable in any conflict? Does Israel care how it’s viewed on the world stage? And Sayeeda tests Hugo’s Scottish-Yiddish.

Israel & Pakistan, Netanyahu & Modi and the not so divine madness of Christian Zionism
With David in India and Sayeeda heading to Pakistan, they discuss India’s ongoing elections and what they mean for the country's 200 million Muslims. They ask whether Modi and Netanyahu are kindred spirits, and look at Pakistan and Israel’s surprisingly similar history.
After that, they tackle Christian Zionism in the US and how it influences Trump and politics worldwide.

Why did the Jew cross the road…at Saturday’s Palestine protest? Columbia campus wars and defining Islamophobia
David and Sayeeda discuss the pro-Palestinian protests in London where the head of the Campaign Against Antisemitism clashed with police, as well as chaos on campus at Columbia University across the pond.
Are antisemitism and Islamophobia being ‘weaponised’ to shut down debate about Israel and Islam? And is having an ‘Islamophobia’ definition doing more harm than good, asks a top think tank?
