Avatar Hidden Bending Skills Revealed CBR Saga

    • Tv en film

Lion turtles have made very brief appearances throughout the Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra, but that doesn’t mean they weren’t important. In fact, they are the ones responsible for the creation of the first Avatar, and by extension to their own future demise. Legends have it that lion turtles have gone extinct being hunted by humans, but as shown in Avatar, these rumors were not completely true. In one episode, Aang found a moving island at sea which turned out to be no other than the supposedly last living lion turtle. This mythic creature was Aang’s answer to end Fire Lord Ozai’s evil reign by using energy bending.

In The Legend of Korra, it is explained how the first Avatar Wan collected the four elements (fire, air, water, earth) from four different lion turtles, before merging with the light spirit Raava and creating the first-ever Avatar. While he collected only those four elements which eventually engendered four distinct nations, the arrival of new bending techniques makes one wonder if there weren’t other elemental lion turtles out there. After all, the show is heavily inspired by East-Asian culture, it is possible that two other pure elements might have been skipped. In Chinese philosophy, the waxing or the five elements, include metal and wood as pure elements. What if there were wood and metal lion turtles out there?

In today’s video, I will explain how the last known lion turtle that Aang encountered was traveling the world to lay eggs in every continent in order to revive and maintain its legacy. I will discuss how pure elemental and sub-elemental lion turtles would be changing the face of the Avatar universe after The Legend of Korra.

Without further ado, hop on your sky bison and join in the journey. Yip yip!
