After 25 years at the Late Night desk, Conan realized that the only people at his holiday party are the men and women who work for him. Over the years and despite thousands of interviews, Conan has never made a real and lasting friendship with any of his celebrity guests. So, he started a podcast to do just that. Deeper, unboundedly playful, and free from FCC regulations, Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend is a weekly opportunity for Conan to hang out with the people he enjoys most and perhaps find some real friendship along the way.

Rain

Am addicted to the podcast. Great guests but the best parts are the exchanges between Conan, Sona and Matt — hilarious and charming.

Pfff

Conan sure loves to hear himself talk.. While it should be about the guest..
Not for me..

Lessons from the early episodes

This is a great podcast to listen to. However, the conversations are a lot less talkshow-y when the guest doesn’t have to plug a movie, show or book.

There’s a different feel to, let’s say, a Dana Carvey episode simply because the co-hosts get to join into the conversation more. There’s more breathing room perhaps because it’s not “part of their press tour” to be a guest on the show.

Maybe the guests overall just have Zoom-fatigue.
