in this episode I’ll be speaking with Jeynelle Dean-Hayes.

Jeynelle is speaking to us about her son Tyler, his death in 2017 and the pursuit of legislative change for crimes involving motor vehicles. Tyler was killed when a car struck him whilst he was riding his bike in Winchelsea. The driver did not stop when he hit and killed Tyler. We go in depth with Jeynelle and her partner Josh, about the court case, its outcome and Jeynelle's fight for legislative change.

    Ep3. Demanding Justice: Sean Purcell

    Ep3. Demanding Justice: Sean Purcell

Sean is a Torquay local, a loving father and has been given a second chance at life, quite literally. Sean was clinically dead for the better part of an hour, whilst a group of selfless locals never gave up on trying to revive him. When he miraculously survived, he had ambition to start fresh. Sean now focuses most of his attention on his work for LifeChanger which is a program for kids to pre-emptively strengthen their relationships and mental health. This is obviously an area I’m very passionate about and is the main reason Sean is joining me on this podcast.

Ep2. Demanding Justice: Professor Joe Graffam

Ep2. Demanding Justice: Professor Joe Graffam

Professor Joe Graffam is the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Research at Deakin University, specialising as a Professor in Psychology. Joe is an expert (among other things) on the reintegration of ex-prisoners into the community.  He has also conducted research about the perceptions of sex offender registries and the reintegration of sex offenders back into the community - an issue close to my heart. I hope you enjoy my interview with Professor Graffam. Have a suggestion for future podcasts? Email me at stuart.grimley@Parliament.vic.gov.au.

    Ep1. Demanding Justice: Wayne Gatt

    Ep1. Demanding Justice: Wayne Gatt

Wayne Gatt is the Secretary of The Police Association Victoria, which represents about 17,300 Victoria Police members. Wayne has been a strong voice for addressing the issue of mental illness in frontline workers and denouncing some of the pitiful sentences handed down by Victorian courts. It was a pleasure to talk to Wayne about his personal journey and his focus for the future.
