He has written extensively on the history of Freemasonry in Oklahoma, including the essential volume Knights on the Prairie: A History of Templary in Oklahoma. Akers’ paper “The Legacy of Regimental Lodges” was recently published in Philalethes: The Journal of Masonic Research & Letters.
