“The Lord Giveth, And The Lord Taketh Away, Praise Be To The Lord.”
It Was Early 2016, And I Was Going Through The Utmost! My Late Little Brother Would Often Come By To Visit, After His Lectures In Town, And We’d Have Our Regularly Unscheduled Fellowship Sessions... I’d Sit & Roll-Up While We Talked About Life, Love, Loss, Lessons & All Things In-Between, Then He’d Always Leave Me With One Of Those Profound Remarks That Had Become His Signature... “The Lord Giveth, And The Lord Taketh Away, Praise Be To The Lord.” I Looked At The Peace In His Spirit As He Said That, There Was A Young Man Who Had Found The Secret To Life, And He Was Eager To Share It With Anybody Who Would Care To Listen. My Brother Passed On In 2018, By The Time I Begun To Actually Heal, 2019 Happened To (For) Me... Then 2020 Did The Most To (For) Us All. In 2021, I Thought No More Losses... Yet We Can’t Begin To Gain What We Truly Need, Without First Taking Some “Losses” Along The Way. We’ve Seen Some Truly Great People Leaving Us In The Physical, To Live On Eternally In Their Spiritual Form, Some Amazing Creations Who Lived Their Lives In Ways That Make You Remember Them With Fondness, Gratitude & A Genuine Sense Of Appreciation. It’s That Dash In Between, Not The Day We’re Born Or Pass On Into The Afterlife, Which Truly Determines Our Legacy... It’s One Thing To Be Remembered, How They Remember You Is A Totally Different Matter Entirely. 🏾
In A Conversation With My Homie Smiz Earlier This Week, I Re-Learned Something That I May Have Known For A While Yet Somehow Had Managed To Forget - "Direction Is Far More Important Than Momentum", When You Are Headed In The Right Direction, There Is No Need To Sweat The Nature Of Your Momentum As Much, Due To How It Naturally Picks Up When It’s Your Time To Ascend Into Who You May Be - There Have Been So Many Instances In My Past, Where I Was Far Too Quick To Move With Situations, People & Times Merely Based On The Momentum I'd Peeped, Largely Due To My Own Perceived Lack Of Proper Direction At The Time. It Took Years Of Unlearing To Overstand For Me To Begin Setting Course Towards My 2RU Direction, A Process Which Has Now Afforded Me With A Far Greater Degree Of Appreciation For My Own Momentum... While Also Allowing Me To Appreciate The Momentum I See In Those Who Are Headed In Their Own Progressive Purpose-Driven Directions Along This Journey We Call Life.
I Pray You Live In A Way Worthy Of The Legacy That You Work To Leave Behind.
