Love at First Sight: Mariah’s Number 44 What’s Your Number?

    • Relationships

The final installment of Mariah's sexual chronicles is about a trope so common, it's become glib: love at first sight. In January of 2020, an (almost) 28-year-old software engineer from NYC walked into a co-working space in Medellín and locked eyes with a blue-eyed gal in a black tube top. It was a chance encounter facilitated by Bumble, and their paths only crossed for two weeks, but it was long enough to know. Sparks flew that day; three years later, those sparks have kept Mariah and her beloved Number 44 cozy and in love through five cities and counting.
The thing is, unlike this one, the 43 other stories you heard before all had endings. But no matter how short-lived or how dramatic or difficult, those stories represent the same spirit, the same open-heartedness, the same belief in magic that had to exist to kindle the spark between M. and Number 44 that January day.
So, here's another cheesy story about being willing to let love into your life, because sometimes it just might keep burnin' and burnin'.
