In this edition of the Peristyle Podcast hosts Ryan Abraham and Connor Morrissette (aka "Triple Double") are back in studio talking about all of the latest news and notes surrounding the USC football program as the team heads into the summer. With finals over and graduation kicking off this week, players have some downtime before heading into their summer workouts and player run practices, preparing for fall camp in August. During this time the Trojan coaching staff is trying to add more pieces to the roster from the transfer portal, getting the squad ready for the first season in the Big Ten.
The guys start off talking about what USC's portal needs are and which players the Trojans missed on and what players are still available to help out, especially on the defensive line. They also discuss the rash of special teams commits and what that means and where this roster sits now in terms of scholarship limits and how those are broken down by position and class.

The USC Triple-Double Podcast returns with co-hosts Shotgun Spratling and Connor Morrissette (aka Mr. Triple Double) breaking down an extremely active offseason for the USC men's and women's basketball programs.
Shotgun and Connor dive into USC men's basketball's new-look roster after nine transfer portal additions, highlighted by the Thursday addition of Big East Most Improved Player Desmond Claude from Xavier. They look at what each of the new transfers bring to the table and how their game could translate for the Trojans with almost all of the additions taking a step up from the mid-major level. Shotgun and Connor then pick their starting fives from the current roster of Trojans with one scholarship spot remaining.
After a short break, the podcasting duo look at the released Big Ten opponents for the 2024-25 season and try to decipher what exactly it could mean for the Trojans and the amount of travel they may have to endure.
The final segment of the Triple-Double Podcast is a discussion about the impact and implications of the Women of Troy landing former Pac-12 foes Kiki Iriafen and Talia von Oelhoffen in the transfer portal, bringing in two elite talents to fill the void caused by the graduation of Ivy League transfers Kaitlyn Davis, McKenzie Forbes and Kayla Padilla. In this edition of the Peristyle Podcast hosts Ryan Abraham and Connor Morrissette (aka "Triple Double") are back in studio with Oregon State transfer linebacker Easton Mascarenas-Arnold joining the show. The veteran from Mission Viejo comes to USC after three years as a Beaver where he played in 37 games and had 107 tackles, 6.5 for loss with two sacks and pair of interceptions for OSU last season.
The Trojans are desperately looking for production out of the linebacker spot and the addition of Mascarenas-Arnold should go a long way towards that goal. The guys chat with him about the decision to join Lincoln Riley, D'Anton Lynn and Matt Entz on this new-look USC defense, coming to Los Angeles with his brother Akili Arnold, how he felt he performed during the 15 spring football practices, what he wants to improve on and what his goals are for his senior season.
After the interview Ryan and Connor recap how the Trojans did in the NFL Draft with the first overall pick being Caleb Williams and six more former USC football players being selected. With seven overall selections the Trojans had the most of any program to finish the 2023 season unranked, a dubious distinction that Riley and company will try and rectify in 2024.
The interview with Easton Mascarenas-Arnold was conducted in conjunction with House of Victory, an alumni-backed nonprofit collective dedicated to providing a competitive edge in the NIL space for University of Southern California student-athletes.
