Ever wondered how someone really ends up running away to join the circus? This week I'm speaking with Shayna Swanson, who fulfilled the stereotypical parental nightmare, forgoing a "traditional" career and joining the circus. But years of performing also led to years of struggle with body image. Having her son at 37 led to her directing for her circus company, Aloft Circus Arts. Aloft is performing Brave Space at Underbelly Circus as part of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
