4 Rules For Standing Out Online
In today’s episode, we chat about why your offers sound like everyone else’s.
No matter what type of aesthetic business owner you are...whether you’re an aesthetician, med spa owner, nurse/PA injector, a plastic surgeon or derm, you likely have competitors who offer very, very similar services in your local market.
This begs the question: How do you stand out?
This isn’t a new topic around here...if you’ve been listening to the show or following me or are a Skin Socialite member you’ve likely heard me chat about this before, BUT many of you still have the same boring, run-of-the-mill aesthetic offerings.
This episode is devoted to helping you think outside of the box when it comes to establishing an offering unlike any other aesthetic business in your local market.
So, what say you dear CEO’s. Are you currently swimming in a red ocean? Do you want to create stand out offers that separate you from what all the other aesthetic competitors are doing in your market? I sure hope so.
One final word of encouragement: creating stand out offers requires a certain type of courage because it means you are going to be doing something a bit different than your peers and this will be uncomfortable and feel “risky” BUT it’s the only way to create a true blue ocean for your business.

7 Types of Content to Build Your Authority Online
I was chatting with an aesthetician inside TSS. Let’s call her “Jane” for the purpose of this conversation. And Jane asked me to take a look at her Instagram account to see if there was anything she could do to improve. And I look at Instagram accounts all.the.time inside of TSS. Overall, things looked fairly solid...her profile was optimized, she was writing her captions in a way that could be easily read, her images were pretty and well lit, she was using hashtags…
Her IG was good, BUT I gave her some ideas on how she could take her content and marketing from good to GREAT...today I’m going to share some insights from those recommendations.
People talk a lot about how to grow on social media. What are the latest and greatest hacks and tactics. BUT all the growth hacking in the world will not out-punt good, solid credibility-building content that positions you as the authority and expert in whatever your speciality is.

Aesthetician or Virtual Assistant? Who Should Your Next Hire Be?
Today’s episode is actually a clip from a coaching call inside of The Skin Socialite membership. I fielded this outstanding question from one of our members:
“A little background. I am a solo aesthetician and a mother, wife, and my books are busting at the seams. I’m to the point that I really want to hire another esthetician but I also want to fix things in the back end before I have someone else that I am responsible for. A place that I don’t have the mental capacity to tackle is my email LOL. I am wondering if you are available for hire or if you have a recommendation for someone that I can hire to write all my email copy and upload them. Or just any help would be great. Mentally I’m so exhausted and this would be a huge weight lifted off my shoulders.” ~TSS member
In this episode I discuss:
What questions to ask yourself when deciding whether or not you should hire another aesthetician/nurse/clinician OR some backend help. In this case, we’re deciding on a virtual assistant for the back end help. The step-by-step instructions on how to go about finding and hiring a virtual assistant. Where online you can find a virtual assistant Where locally you can find a virtual assistant Mistakes to avoid when hiring your virtual assistant Fave quote: “It will feel as if you’re slowing down initially, but the result will end up producing faster growth in the long run.” ~Heather Terveen

Building a Successful Brow Empire with Melissa Pruett
What does it really take to become THE go-to place in town?
Today we are chatting with Melissa Pruett, founder of MELT by Melissa in Scottsdale (soon opening their second location in Phoenix), a self-care studio focused on Brows, Microblading, Skin, Lash services as well as an Academy for training aestheticians on the art of brows and lash extensions.
In this episode Melissa and I discuss:
How she ended up starting MELT and what her first few years in business were really like. Melissa’s best advice for new aestheticians looking to grow their expertise and clientele. Being good at delivering a service is one thing, BUT being able to lead a team, wear a CEO hat AND teach/coach others to deliver that service are other skills entirely. Melissa discusses what leadership means to her and how she’s been able to grow such a kick-butt team for MELT. This entrepreneurship gig ain’t for the faint of heart. Melissa shares why her personal development journey has gone hand-in-hand with her business growth.
