Welcome to the candid and honest perspectives of women as they address topics relevant to loving their way through the world. Thairapy allows us to confront issues that affect our lives and our culture. The perspectives are from women, and some men, from different socioeconomic backgrounds, religious beliefs, educational training and generational divides. The truth from women that are navigating life through love without judgement. Not all seasons will have a licensed therapist but the licensed hairapist is always on duty. Let's get your head and your hair right.
Floating Through Randomness
Shop talk. I'm working and talking. My clients are trying to spend less time under the dryer so they frequently poke their heads out to engage in random topics.
Exploring Black Art and Cultural Spaces
This session of Thairpy we talk about art. In what seems like a never ending era of gentrification we attempt to explore the exposure of African American visual art and cultural spaces in the African American community and how to preserve them. Visual arts and museums detail the multifaceted areas of our beautiful and often complicated stories. Where slavery and drug addiction collide with triumph and bible belt faith practices. How do we preserve and protect our narratives? One of the ways is through the visual griot. Here we are allowed to see our feelings and thoughts. Who are your favorite artist? What museums are a must for cultural soul feeding? Hair is my canvas, the shop is where my exhibits are created and curated. How do you explore Black art and cultural spaces?
Getting our feet wet and letting our hair down as we attempt to explore the ability or inability of platonic opposite sex relationships. This episode happened by accident. Its extremely raw and unedited as I transparently present honest and candid conversations that happen in the hair salon. Please let us know what and how we can improve going forward. Welcome to Doux or Dye Salon where "tHAIRpy" is in session.
