Laie Elementary Anti-Bullying Project
Winter 2019 Anti-Bullying at Laie Elementary project. A narrative of how we used collaborative anthropology at a nearby school to combat bullying and create a sustainable culture of kindness.
Mady Brown and Saren Eads are students at Brigham Young University- Hawaii, who are currently taking an Applied Anthropology class from Tevita Ka'ili. In this class they are instructed to conduct anthropological research and create an effective intervention within a culture that they feel connected to. This is the summary of their experiences and gives an overview of the different research methods they employed as well as the narrative of the project.
It may be helpful to others who are seeking ways to be involved in their communities, specifically with combatting the issue of bullying, and implementing intercultural peace-building.
