Cinemas are reopening, but this week everyone has been talking about the release of "Hamilton" on Disney+, a filmed version of the popular stage show. Excuse the wonky audio on ju's mic for the first half of the recording, she tried to use a mic whilst sat on a duvet and CLEARLY sitting at a desk is better.
The recording is an edited together version of three performances at the Richard Rodgers Theatre on Broadway in June 2016. It stars the original cast, including Daveed Diggs, Renée Elise Goldsberry, Jonathan Groff, Christopher Jackson, Jasmine Cephas Jones, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Leslie Odom Jr and Phillipa Soo.
Featuring a score that blends hip-hop, jazz, R&B and Broadway, “Hamilton” tells the life story of one of the USA's founding father, Alexander Hamilton. Between someone who's seen the musical twice (Tim), and someone who has never seen it (Ju), we discuss whether this was a successful recording of the popular stage show.
