The story of Jacob wrestling with God shows us clearly both the fear and the faith of Jacob. His inconsistency and slowness tochange ought to be encouraging to us because he is still loved and blessed by God.

In Genesis 28-30, we will see Jacob experience God and His grace. As Jacob experienced God’s grace we see pillows turn to pillars, God’s promise prevails, and the presence of God in person.
