On January 13, 1996, Amber Hagerman and her little brother, Ricky, took a small detour from their normal bike riding path. Within 8 minutes...she was gone. Her murder is still unsolved to this day. Though a sad and strange case, it prompted the creation of one of the fastest ways authorities use to alert the public of child abductions today.

In 1997, Frédéric Bourdin decided he wanted to be someone else. He took on  the identify of would be 16 year old missing Texas teen Nicholas Patrick Barclay. With a few road blocks to overcome, like the fact that he was 23 and didn't have blond hair or blue eyes, Frédéric managed to pull the wool over more than a few eyes...until the jig was up.

The story starts with a young mother on the side of the road...leaving a husband and two year old behind. Where all the roads lead in the end will have you baffled and heartbroken. A tale of assumed identities, abductions, lies and abuse, who 𝘸𝘢𝘴 the Girl in the Picture?

You may remember him from hits like raising the cost of Daraprim by 5000% or from buying the infamous Wu Tang Clan album for 2 million to use it as a coaster. What's even more baffling are the lengths the filmmaker went to get up close and personal with this myth of a man.
