Ep. 129 | Unscheduled Rant
You never think it's going to happen to you...
As owners of a Home Care business, we see all too often hospitals failing to help families make the transition from hospital to home. When it happened to one of our own, we were able to see this happen from a more intimate perspective, and cemented for us even more so that if you do not do your research ahead of time and know what SHOULD be happening, it's even easier for you to end up in a tragic situation.
Join us this week for an unscheduled RANT, all in an effort to help make sure this doesn't happen to you.

"Multiple sclerosis is an unpredictable disease of the central nervous system. Currently there is no cure. Symptoms vary from person to person and may include fatigue, mobility challenges, cognitive changes and vision issues. The National Multiple Sclerosis Society is the go-to source for accurate, actionable information about MS" (National Multiple Sclerosis Society).

Ep. 126 | The Do’s and Don’ts of the Dotted Line
"The receptionist at the doctor’s office gives you a sheaf of papers to fill out. As the air-conditioning repairman leaves, he hands you a contract. In a spa’s waiting room, you’re asked to sign an agreement before your Swedish massage.
All this may be presented as routine paperwork — no big deal. But the consequences of filling out forms and signing your name could be very big indeed. You might be weakening your privacy, giving up legal rights or agreeing to prices and charges you never dreamed you’d have to pay. So what should you do before taking pen in hand? When can you decline to sign?" (AARP).
Join us this week as we discuss things you might not know you needed to know about signing your name on the dotted line, including what it means and what it doesn't mean depending on the words preceding it.

Ep. 125 | Prior Proper Planning - Disaster Edition
"First, know your risk. Then, understand your needs during emergencies. This section guides you through a self-assessment process to identify your specific needs so that you can create a personalized emergency plan."
It's easy to think you will be able to navigate through a natural disaster as it is happening. However, without any prior planning, you are only putting yourself and your loved ones at greater risk. Join us this week as we discuss the things you need to think about when initiating a conversation around disaster planning.

Ep. 124 | All [Service] Creatures Great and Small
"If the dog’s mere presence provides comfort, it is not a service animal under the ADA. But if the dog is trained to perform a task related to a person’s disability, it is a service animal under the ADA. For example, if the dog has been trained to sense that an anxiety attack is about to happen and take a specific action to help avoid the attack or lessen its impact, the dog is a service animal" (ADA.gov).
Knowing that there is a difference between a Service Animal and an Emotional Support Animal may be common, but what are those exact differences? Join us this week as we discuss what makes a service animal a service animal, and how an emotional support pet might differ.
