    Two Thomas Pierce goals in the closing minutes gave Oranmore/Maree B a 3-1 victory in the Joe Ryan Cup Final last night (Thursday, 6th June 2024) in Eamonn Deacy Park.
    Wallison de Silva’s strike had given Corofin United the lead before Michael Lafferty’s equaliser.
    Afterwards, Maree/Oranmore manager Conor Mullin gave his reaction to Galway Bay FM's Mike Rafferty.

    Galway's under-14 ladies footballers chase a third All-Ireland title this Saturday (8th June 2024) when they clash with Cavan in the Platinum Final.
    The Tribesgirls had previous success in 2010 and 2017 against Dublin and Kerry respectively, while the current group are unbeaten in 10 championship games so far.  Orna Dunne's goal was crucial in a 1-13 to 1-10 semi-final success against Kildare.
    But Cavan also come into this decider unblemished and were comprehensive victors against Tyrone at the penultimate hurdle.

    Galway United return to SSE Airtricity League Women's Premier Division on Saturday (8th June 2024) when they entertain Wexford.
    It's their first meeting since last November when two goals each for Abbie Callanan and Rola Olusola secured a 4-0 result in Ferrycarrig Park.
    That was after two draws, including a penalty shoot-out in the Avenir All-Island Cup semi-final, a competition Galway United went on to secure their first-ever silverware.
    Phil Trill's team are currently top of the table with 19 points from seven games, 12 ahead of the visitors.

    Galway United are back on the road again this Friday (7th June 2024) when they travel to Derry City in the SSE Airtricity League Premier Division.
    This is the Tribesmen's second trip up north this season and they came back from Derry in March with a 1-0 win thanks to Stephen Walsh's late goal.
    Despite defeat to St. Patrick's Athletic last week, Galway United have benefitted from a nine-game unbeaten run beforehand to currently sit in fifth spot on on 27 points, eight behind second placed Derry City but with three games in hand.
    But the Candystripes, who include Loughrea's Pat Hoban (10 Premier Division goals this year), in their attack, and have only lost twice since in their last 14 games (both against Shamrock Rovers).

    Pearse Stadium will host an All-Ireland Camogie Championship double header this Saturday, starting with Galway’s seniors against Down from 1pm.
    Galway come into this game following a win over Dublin in round one and drawing with Wexford last weekend.
    Galway have three important games left in the group stages including a trip to Cork at the end of the month.
    However, they could be without Niamh Mallon and Rachel Hanniffy who have both picked up injuries recently and are also without Siobhan McGrath who has left the panel.
