Halloween Special: The Horror Sequels of 1989 Do We Like Movies?

    • TV & Film

We wanted to do something different for Halloween this year. This episode came out of a loose discussion with a friend and listener of the show about Friday The 13th Part VII: Jason Takes Manhattan. It evolved into a discussion about how 1989 was the year that Friday The 13th 8, Nightmare on Elm St. 5, and Halloween 5 which were all released in the same year were the awful sequels in each franchise jumped the shark and killed the 80s Slasher.
We discuss the how we arrived at each sequel, how truly awful they all were, and where the franchises went after that point. It's a different structure than our normal shows but we truly had fun recording this one and we want to wish our audience safe, socially distant, and Happy Halloween.
