Everton superfan Dr David France: Gods of Goodison | Goodison Park: My Home
Although Goodison Park: My Home is a series mostly dedicated to Everton players, we make a change of gear for part 4 as Chris Beesley speaks to Blues super fan Dr David France.
Growing up in humble surroundings in Widnes and coming from a family of Evertonians stretching back five generations, the 75-year-old affectionately known as 'Dr Everton' is a retired oil and gas industry executive who sold his 10,000-item collection of Everton memorabilia to the club at a heavily discounted price so it could be kept for posterity while also founding the Everton Former Players’ Foundation to raise money for the physical and pastoral care of ex-professionals who have represented the club.
He was also the founder and driving force behind the Gwladys Street Hall of Fame, the EFC Heritage Society, Everton War Memorials and has authored 19 books about Everton with proceeds donated to Merseyside charities.
Making transatlantic trips to watch his beloved Blues play having moved to the USA several decades ago, David has watched many of Everton's greatest players over the years while also befriending lots of them through his projects.

Everton safety secured with 'boring' 1-0 win
Idrissa Gueye’s second goal in consecutive weekends secured a third successive home win for Everton and a result that ensured Sean Dyche’s side are now mathematically safe going into the final month of the season.
Despite two separate points deductions, the Blues will now go into their last season at Goodison Park as a Premier League club.

Everton 2-0 Liverpool | Merseyside Derby Ecstasy
Join Ian Croll, Joe Thomas & Gav Buckland as they look back at a famous Merseyside Derby win under the lights at Goodison Park.
A superb display gave Everton their first Merseyside Derby on home turf since October 2010 as they beat Liverpool 2-0.
Blues fans mocked their neighbours by chanting "you lost the league at Goodison Park" after goals from Jarrad Branthwaite and Dominic Calvert-Lewin either side of the break gave Sean Dyche’s side a richly-deserved three points to hand defeat to Jurgen Klopp on his last trip across Stanley Park.

Nottingham Forest fume, Clattenburg joke and Everton's most significant win of the season - Royal Blue
Host Chris Beesley joins ECHO Everton correspondent Joe Thomas and regular guest Gavin Buckland for the latest edition of the Royal Blue podcast.
The panel review Everton’s 2-0 victory over Nottingham Forest, which could be a hugely-significant win for the club and manager Sean Dyche’s side as they bid to secure Premier League survival. Goals from Idrissa Gueye and Dwight McNeil plus a crucial save from Jordan Pickford helped secure three points but the visitors were left upset by the officiating of the game, feeling they should have been awarded three penalties.
Those incidents all come under the microscope along with a preview of Wednesday’s Merseyside Derby at Goodison Park.
